This piece explores tension between control and release. The surface is carved before firing, creating vertical channels that interrupt the form. A tenmoku glaze settles and breaks over these marks, pooling, thinning, and revealing the texture beneath. I’m drawn to how the carving directs the glaze, but never fully controls it.
