Description / Concept
This painting is a poem of a point in my life! They say my paintings look like me. Funny it was never meant to turn out that way. Funny more! This one is me. They said don’t paint a woman’s back. But this is not just my back. It’s me facing the universe and the odds. After a long day work I took a shower, washed my hair and I was feeling goood. It’s the rare occasion of taking a selfie. I was in my earliest 30’s. Up and down days. Apart from the actual towel on my head was a slaying fold. It hit me that I am here and I seen I am blessed!
Â
Regardless of what the day brings the is a brighter tomorrow. Look at a woman in her ups and downs not giving up but looking at the possibilities of tomorrow. Once a child now grown with my own canvas to paint. I will remain I will keep loving, I will still fight no matter the odds, I March on. As they say in so many ways! The wind in my back and the future in my front.Â

That day’s selfie was not a moment or a shot of ego. It was a moment of realization. It felt so good that I had to make it last so I painted it.
